On October 30, Professor Mohammad Khasawneh, Chair of the Department of Systems Science and Industrial Engineering at Binghamton University, State of New York, visited CULR for an academic exchange. Liu Xiangbing, Secretary of CULR Party Committee, Li Ke, Vice President, and the person-in-charge of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation met with Professor Mohammad Khasawneh and his entourage. Personnel-in-charge as well as faculty and student representatives from the School of Safety Engineering and the School of Computer Science attended the exchange. More than 200 students from the Zhuozhou Campus participated in the event online.
During the meeting, Secretary Liu Xiangbing emphasized that through years of cooperation and exchanges, CULR and Binghamton University have forged a profound friendship and achieved remarkable results in collaboration. He expressed confidence that on the basis of the signed comprehensive framework cooperation agreement, the two universities will further expand cooperative disciplines and exchange programs, bringing benefits to more faculty and students of CULR.

During his visit, Professor Mohammad Khasawneh held in-depth discussions with faculty and graduate student representatives from the School of Safety Engineering and the School of Computer Science. He gave a detailed introduction to the research areas and strengths of the faculty at the Department of Systems Science and Industrial Engineering, Binghamton University, and exchanged views with teachers and students on semester and academic-year visiting programs as well as integrated master's and doctoral programs. Some teachers and graduate students expressed their interest in pursuing visiting studies and integrated master's and doctoral programs at Binghamton University. Afterwards, Professor Mohammad Khasawneh introduced the "3.5+1.5" undergraduate‑master's joint training program to undergraduate students from the School of Safety Engineering and the School of Computer Science.

Binghamton University ranks 37th among national universities in the United States. In August this year, Secretary Liu Xiangbing led a delegation to visit Binghamton University, where the two sides signed a comprehensive framework cooperation agreement and renewed the agreement on the "3.5+1.5" undergraduate‑master's joint training program. Professor Mohammad Khasawneh's visit has further promoted and deepened the implementation of the two agreements.
